“Altowood was founded by Eddie Lasala on a series of working principles and philosophies, with methods developed to anchor consistent quality and precision.”
Observation is applied inside the shop as much as on any project.
Each stage of construction is tracked for where time is lost and where quality is easiest to compromise.
This attention allows efficiency and quality to improve together, rather than one being traded for the other.
Wood comes from a living tree, not a manufacturing process. Because each tree grows differently, individual boards vary in grain, color, and density, even within the same species, and no two boards are ever truly identical. That variation is preserved in the finished work rather than sanded or matched away.
Quality is the result of method, not chance. The process used today is not the process used decades ago. Each stage has been adjusted over time as specific problems were identified and corrected, and the current method is applied the same way on every project.
